Mount Zion Missions

Recap of our KY Missions Trip

WMU (Women's Missionary Union) is the women's mission organization at Mount Zion. In conjunction with our Southern Baptist missions organizations, our WMU sponsors our annual Lottie Moon Christmas missions offering, Annie Armstrong Easter offering, and Janie Chapman state missions offering. These offerings are used around the world and at home to support the full time efforts of missionaries and local missions efforts.

Our WMU typically meets monthly to plan mission projects, facilitate the missions offerings mentioned above, pray for missionaries around the world, and to help keep our church focused on missions.

The Iron-Man Men's Ministry is the men's mission organization of the church. This ministry meets monthly on missions night for fellowship, Bible study, and to work together with the WMU on various missions projects.

The foundation for this ministry is to help men focus on real life issues and subjects and to face those issues with a biblical worldview and focus.

Men of all ages (including our youth) are invited to join this ministry in order to fulfill the scripture "Iron sharpens iron." Proverbs 27:17

Many children leave school on Friday afternoons and do not have another healthy meal until they return to school on Monday morning. Because of this, Mount Zion partners with Fairforest Elementary School to provide Backpacks of Love.

These food bags are filled with food items appropriate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also include snack and beverage items.

Mount Zion is humbled and honored to serve with Fairforest in providing meals to children who might otherwise go hungry for the weekend.
